Publicis Kaplan Thaler selected ALT TERRAIN to help plan, permit, produce, and manage the Citibike / Citibank experiential activation event in Union Square, New York City.
The bank-sponsored experiential event focused on 'learn and ride' activities educating the public about the benefits of the bike share system, station locator app, and bike safety.
A fun Citibike Street Skills Riding Zone track was installed with asphalt decals, obstacles, instructors and actors playing pedestrians on the street.
People that experienced the bike track, tweeted the event, or download the app were treated to free ice cream and/or hot dogs via onsite vendors.
Additionally onsite there was a helmet fitting station and giveaways compliments of DOT, outdoor step & repeats with the bikes, tent and stage with DJ spinning NY-centric tracks, plus branded signage and barricades throughout, plus an appearance by Mr. Met!
ALT TERRAIN handled outdoor experiential marketing event planning, permitting, event production, transportation, installation, staffing, and management.
Why we loved this experiential activation?
1.) The purpose centered around worthy causes; educating the public about bike-sharing and safety in the city
2.) There were a multitude of ways for people to participate
3.) It was part of Citibank's goal to become a positive force in the lives of people in New York City
