Publicis Kaplan Thaler selected ALT TERRAIN to help plan, permit, produce, and manage the Citibike experiential activation launch event in Union Square, New York City for their bank client Citibank.
The bank-sponsored bikeshare kickoff event focused on consumer 'learn and ride' activities educating consumers about bike share system, station locator app, and bike safety in a fun and celebratory environment.
An experiential Citibike Street Skills Riding Zone track was installed with asphalt decals, obstacles, instructors and actors acting as consumers on the street which riders had to maneuver around.
People that experienced the track, tweeted the event, or download the app were treated to free ice cream and/or hot dogs via onsite vendors.
Additionally onsite there was a helmet fitting station and giveaways compliments of DOT, outdoor step & repeats with the bikes, tent and stage with DJ spinning NY-centric tracks, plus branded signage and barricades throughout, plus an appearance by Mr. Met!
